the LIBERTY-dayton area chamber of commerce’s monthly luncheon is this wednesday at noon in the liberty center at city hall. this month’s speaker is ken defoor – a volunteer with texas equusearch. that is a search and rescue organization dedicated to assisting law enforcement locate missing persons. texas equusearch was FOUNDED back in 2000 by director tim miller following the ABDUCTION and murder of his daughter, laura. during the ensuing 10 years, the group has developed an international reputation for their search and rescue efforts. volunteers with the ORGANIZATION come from all walks of life, including business owners, medics, firefighters, pilots, housewives, ELECTRICIANS, students, horse enthusiasts, and many others. volunteer ken defoor is a longtime lawman. in addition to his many years with the houston police department, he also is a former dayton police chief and was the chief deputy for liberty county under two different sheriff’s. he also served as interim emergency coordinator for liberty county. now that he is officially retired, ken defoor has become an active VOLUNTEER for texas equusearch. he will be the guest speaker at the liberty-dayton chamber of commerce’s noon LUNCHEON this wednesday at the liberty center. for reservations, call the chamber at 936-336-5736.
